Research and Development Scientist

Julie Weitzman

As a Research and Development Scientist in the Stable Isotope Biogeochemistry Lab (SIBL) at Stanford Julie’s interests broadly lie in understanding the physical, chemical, and biological processes responsible for nutrient retention and loss in terrestrial ecosystems, and the streams and rivers that flow from them.

Education

Ph.D in Soil Science and Biogeochemistry, The Pennsylvania State University, 2016
M.S. in Soil Science, The Pennsylvania State University, 2011
B.A. in Environmental Science, Franklin & Marshall College, 2008

Research

Stable isotope biogeochemistry; soil-plant-atmosphere continuum; nitrogen & carbon dynamics; terrestrial & near-stream biogeochemistry; consequences of land-use change; legacy sediment impacts
